Being Human

 Being Human

Where will the mankind take refuge today..
When the Earth mocks it and calls this his way!

Never did we imagine to witness this hour..
When human beings were found so short of power..

Sparing no one and engulfing everything..
It didn’t see rich or poor, neither minister nor the king..

With the daily spike in deaths and this dreaded chain..
Seeing the sufferings and endurances our hearts pain..

Wonder till when this fear and uncertainties looming..
Or is it now time, the beginning of our dooming..

Nations being shaken and economies crippled..
Indeed it's the worst this generation's got grappled..

Amidst this crisis, several thoughts seem pondering..
As if the divine unfolds mysteries of life whispering..

As climates and seasons keep passing their baton..
Even this pandemic shall sure see its extinction..

But there exists a greater war which is staring..
War of enmity, hatred and vengeance now glaring..

When nations becomes foes or when religions are blamed..
Humanity would be distanced and eternity would be shamed..

Instead it's a time to recoup and reunite in our mission..
Expressing solidarity and emerge as a better new edition..

A mission where love and empathy can conquer this world..
And that's the humankind which ought to be preserved..

Where will the mankind take refuge today...
When the Earth mocks it and calls this his way!

Rapes in India !

Amidst all the rape news flowing inside out daily, I wonder where exactly the problem lies. Is it the so-called man's intimidation of women's sexuality or is there any blame which we can put on the women. India is a country where we were taught to treat all women and girls as our mother and sisters. And yes this is where I feel the problem in our people's mindset lie.

A person can symbolise a woman as her mother only when she is like her mother. Similarly a person can consider a stranger girl as his sister only when she is or say she dresses like her own sister. As we are into 21st century, our cultural country has evolved and and has started adopting western society's practices but sadly not all people have done so. And it won't happen so easily.

Its the problem with our mentality yes 99% of Indian men's mentality. Say a gorgeous lady is walking down the street opposite to us wearing short tight dress, tell me which male person won't give her a second look. Everyone including your brother and your father will, and that is because we are not used to seeing girls dressed up like those on a day to day basis. In fact girls or ladies with short dresses are more seen in B grade or adult movies where it is common to objectify women. In the same case imagine you are in Thailand or any European country many people won't give her a second stare. This is exactly the point of perception that engulfs the men in the society.  Yes this is wrong but sadly it is true to a large extent.

Many girls or women would argue to not tell them what to wear instead teach the boys or men how to behave. I can understand their point of view but sadly girls, that's not a true  and feasible solution to this evil crime at least in the short run. When the educated and respected people can't stop staring and exploring hot women they see, how can you just imagine the culture-less, uneducated, poor and uncivilised men to control their urge or fantasy when they see a sexy lady.

Many of the educated ones argue what is wrong in seeing or say checking out a girl when we are not doing anything wrong to them. But guys even if you are not doing anything wrong, when you stare at a girl with a lustful thought, you are committing a rape on her in your mind. Many wont buy this thought process but tell me would u give the same look to your mother or your sisters.? Or to ask in a different way would you be comfortable if your mother and sister are given the same look. Of course not !

Also, it goes without saying that a lot has to do with the legal system in our country. Unlike in some countries where rapists are punished brutally, in India its not the case. Here majority of the incidents go unreported and in rest cases the accused escapes the deserved punishment thanks to the loopholes in the system. So in our country a sense of fear has never been created and the so called perverts feel they will get away easily even after doing such heinous crimes. Its high time we adopt brutal punishments for such acts so that every prospective rapist has a fear in his mind of the potential outcome of his act.

The other important thing or perhaps the most important thing is to bring about a change in each and everyone's mentality. When we have moved to 21st century our minds also needs to be transformed. Women should not be objectified and instead start treating them with dignity. In a time when passing a remark on a woman or sharing videos and messages objectifying women in social media is rampant, one should start raising voice against it or if thats not possible stop supporting and encouraging it. Next time when you see a lady imagine her as your own mother or sister. This change of mentality is the need of the hour. So, if you sincerely feel rape as a curse to the society, do your bit by stopping the habit of exploring.

Admire but don't explore!

Spare a thought !

Is this kind of life just worth living?

From morning to night one toils down,

With enough of worries n tension bound.

Struggling n wearying in this deceptive world,

Where things are prioritised n people are hurled..

Right from childhood, this pressure mounts,

Our minds are shaped just to think of amounts.

How materialistic this world has become !!!

Nowadays helping and giving is not a one way traffic,

Its the expectation in return which makes it tragic.

Love, caring and sharing have become things of the past,

Day by day its declining don't know till when will it last..

Is our birth in this world just worth all these?

Life here has made us a puppet,

Made us do things, all within the same bucket,

Never made us think beyond it,

Never made us act beyond it,

In fact never allowed us to make the most of it.

Remember there's only one life for our taking,

Don't be a slave but an architect for this making.

Feeling greatly mesmerised after this writing,

Is this kind of life just worth living?

Life in Mumbai !

The day starts with a morning tea..

When the sun shines above the sea..

Unaware of the joys and sorrows in the head..

So calm so nice seems the day ahead..

But then the city wakes up..

And the ugly truth shows up..

Water gushing from the pipes to..

The doorbells ringing more than twice..

Constant yelling by the wives to..

The vadapavs selling down the lines..

People here seem to race against time..

As they find themselves never on time..

Crowded local trains called the lifelines..

Carrying people throughout the times..

With aims so high and dreams so wide..

People around here continue to stride..

They seem to be in a maze..

Don't know where exactly to gaze..

Hours of suffering for their small bearings..

Is what it takes to see their children prospering..

Multi-religious and multilingual..

Rich n poor..

Its a home to all..

And is what we call....

MUMBAI !!
